Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 5 October 2026 · Version 1.0

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply when you use the LazyMeals app, the LazyMeals website and related services (together, “LazyMeals” or the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using LazyMeals, you agree to these Terms.

The same Terms apply in the app and on the website. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies, unless mandatory law where you live requires otherwise.

LazyMeals is not only available in the EU. Wherever you live, nothing in these Terms limits the mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, and our Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies.

1. About us

LazyMeals is provided by Bergie Consulting AB, a company registered in Sweden (organisation number 5593666141, VAT number SE559366614101), Skeppsgatan 2A, 211 09 Malmö, Sweden (“we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at lazymeals@bergie.se. Legal notices to us should be sent to lazymeals-legal@bergie.se.

2. The Service

LazyMeals is a meal planning service. Depending on your plan, it lets you create personalised meal plans for yourself or your household, get recipe suggestions, cook with step-by-step instructions and timers, create grocery lists, save and share recipes, and use an AI assistant to plan and adjust meals.

LazyMeals is for personal, non-commercial use. It is a planning tool. It does not provide medical, dietary or nutritional advice.

3. Your account

  • Age: you must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Adults can add household profiles for children, as described in section 4.
  • One person: an account is personal. Do not share your login details or let others use your account.
  • Accurate information: give us accurate information and keep it up to date, especially your email address, so we can reach you.
  • Security: keep your password safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our failure to protect it.
  • Signing out ends your session on that device. It does not delete your account or data.
  • Deleting your account: you can delete your account at any time in the app. Deletion is permanent. If you have an active paid subscription, it is cancelled before the account is deleted so that no further payments are taken. If the cancellation cannot be confirmed, the account is not deleted until it can be. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

4. Households and other people's information

  • Household structure: a household has one owner. You can belong to one household at a time.
  • Owner: the household owner can invite LazyMeals users, add people without an account (such as children), remove members, edit information for people without an account, manage household preferences, and create and edit shared household meal plans. Members with their own account can view the household and its shared content and take part in shared meal planning. The owner cannot leave their own household.
  • Shared and private content: household meal plans, the recipes inside them and shared grocery items are shared with the household. Your private preferences, memories, saved recipes and ratings stay private, but your relevant preferences and restrictions are used when a household plan includes you.
  • Information about others: if you add information about another person, such as a child’s allergies, you confirm that you are entitled to do so, for example as their parent or guardian, and that they (or their guardian) know you are using LazyMeals for this purpose. Only add information that is needed for meal planning, and keep it accurate.
  • Inviting people: only invite or refer people you know and who would expect to hear from you. Do not use invitations or referrals to send unsolicited messages.
  • Leaving and removal: if you leave a household or are removed from it, you keep your own account and personal data, but lose access to the household’s shared content. If the owner deletes their account, the household is closed and remaining members lose access to its shared content.

5. AI, food safety and nutrition

LazyMeals uses AI to create and adjust meal plans and recipes and to answer questions. Please read this section carefully.

  • AI can make mistakes. AI-generated meal plans, recipes, ingredient lists, quantities, cooking times, substitutions and answers can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable.
  • Always check before cooking. You are responsible for checking ingredients, quantities, allergens and cooking instructions before preparing or eating food, especially if you or anyone you cook for has allergies, intolerances or other dietary restrictions. Check product labels, because ingredients vary between brands.
  • No safety guarantee. LazyMeals takes the allergies and restrictions you enter into account and checks suggestions against them, but we cannot guarantee that any recipe or meal plan is free from a particular allergen or safe for a particular person.
  • Nutrition is an estimate. Nutrition information is estimated and is not medically precise. It is meant for general meal planning only.
  • Not medical advice. LazyMeals does not provide medical, health or dietary advice and is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, dietitian or other qualified professional. Talk to a professional before making dietary changes for medical reasons, during pregnancy, or if you have a medical condition or eating disorder.
  • Food handling. Follow normal food safety practices, including correct storage, hygiene and cooking temperatures. Estimated cooking times are guides only.
  • AI does not change your account. The AI assistant cannot change, cancel or refund your subscription. Billing actions are only completed when they have been confirmed in Plans & Billing or by Stripe.

6. Plans and AI allowances

LazyMeals offers three plans:

  • Free: 1 active meal plan, saved recipes, meal preferences and memory, AI meal planning and basic planning features.
  • Premium: everything in Free, plus up to 5 active meal plans, enhanced AI meal planning and advanced nutrition and planning features.
  • Unlimited: everything in LazyMeals, including unlimited active meal plans, advanced AI meal planning and all advanced features.

Current prices and plan details are shown on our pricing page and in the app.

  • Active and locked meal plans: your plan determines how many of your meal plans are active (accessible). Your most recent meal plans are active. Older meal plans above your plan’s limit are locked. Locked meal plans are kept, not deleted, and become available again if you move to a plan that allows them.
  • AI allowance: each plan includes an AI allowance for each usage period. For paid plans, the usage period follows your billing period. For Free, it is a calendar month. One user-initiated AI action counts once, however many technical steps it needs. Unused allowance does not carry over. Your current allowance and usage are shown in the app.
  • When the allowance runs out: new AI requests are unavailable until the allowance resets, but an AI action that has already started can finish. Everything that does not need a new AI request keeps working, including your meal plans, recipes, groceries, cooking mode, preferences and household.
  • Changes to allowances: we may adjust AI allowances, for example based on cost and usage. If we reduce the allowance of your paid plan, we will tell you in advance and the change will apply from your next billing period, and you may cancel before it applies.

7. Prices and payment

  • Prices and VAT: our prices are shown on our pricing page and in the app. Prices for consumers include VAT where VAT applies. The amount you will be charged and the billing period are shown before you confirm your purchase.
  • Billing periods: Premium and Unlimited can be paid monthly or yearly.
  • Automatic renewal: paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period for the same length of time, and you will be charged the price that applies at renewal, until you cancel.
  • Payment processing: payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us and Stripe to charge your chosen payment method at the start of each billing period. Stripe’s terms also apply to the payment.
  • Managing billing: you can see your plan, billing dates, payment method and receipts and manage your subscription from Plans & Billing in the app, which may take you to Stripe’s secure billing portal.
  • Receipts: receipts and invoices are provided by email and through Stripe.

8. Upgrades

  • You can upgrade from Free to a paid plan, or from Premium to Unlimited, at any time.
  • Your new plan applies once the payment or subscription change is confirmed.
  • When you upgrade during a paid billing period, any adjustment to the amount charged (proration) is calculated and shown by Stripe before or when the change is made.
  • Meal plans that were locked become available again within the limits of your new plan. Your existing content is not changed by an upgrade.

9. Downgrades

  • Not immediate: a downgrade, for example from Unlimited to Premium or from Premium to Free, does not take effect straight away.
  • You keep your current plan until the period ends: your current subscription stays fully active, with all of its benefits and features, until the end of the current billing period.
  • The new plan starts with the next period: the downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing period. From then on, the limits of the new plan apply.
  • The exact date: the app shows you the date your current plan remains active until before you confirm the downgrade. That date is the actual end of your current billing period.
  • Undoing a downgrade: you can undo a scheduled downgrade before it takes effect, and your current plan then continues.
  • Nothing is deleted: a downgrade never deletes your data. When it takes effect, meal plans above the new plan’s limit are locked, not deleted. For example, if you downgrade from Unlimited to Premium, all your meal plans are kept, but only your 5 most recent meal plans remain active. Older meal plans are locked.
  • Upgrading again: if you upgrade later, locked meal plans become available again according to the new plan’s limits.
  • The same applies when you downgrade from Premium to Free: Premium benefits continue until the end of the current billing period, then the Free limits apply, and older meal plans are locked rather than deleted.

10. Cancellation

  • You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from Plans & Billing in the app.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Until then, you keep your paid plan and all its benefits, and you will not be charged again.
  • When the paid period ends, your account moves to the Free plan. Your data is not deleted. Meal plans above the Free limit are locked rather than deleted.
  • Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account. To delete your account, use the account deletion option in the app.

11. Your right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of the day you enter into it, without giving a reason. If you live elsewhere, you may have a similar right under the law of your country, and these Terms do not limit it.

  • How to withdraw: tell us clearly within the 14 days, for example by email to lazymeals@bergie.se. You can use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to. It is enough that you send your message before the 14 days have passed.
  • If the service has started: if you asked us to start providing your paid plan before the withdrawal period ends and then withdraw, you pay for the part of the service you received up to the time you told us you were withdrawing, calculated in proportion to the full price of the billing period. We refund the rest. If you did not ask us to start before the withdrawal period ends, we refund the full amount.
  • Refund: we refund the amount due without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your withdrawal, using the same payment method you used, unless we agree otherwise. You will not be charged any fee for the refund.
  • After withdrawal: your account moves to the Free plan. Your data is not deleted.

The right of withdrawal applies to new subscriptions. It does not apply again to automatic renewals of the same subscription, unless the law requires it.

12. Refunds

We give refunds where the law requires them. We do not have a separate, voluntary refund policy beyond that. Your statutory rights are not affected: your right of withdrawal (see section 11) and any other cancellation, refund or consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live continue to apply.

Unless the law requires otherwise, cancelling or downgrading does not give you a refund or credit for the rest of the current billing period, or for unused AI allowance or features. Instead, because cancellations and downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period, you keep the plan you paid for until that period ends.

If you think you have been charged incorrectly, contact us at lazymeals@bergie.se and we will look into it. Where a refund is due, it is made to the payment method you used, through Stripe.

13. Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will let you know so you can update your payment method. Stripe may try the payment again. If the payment cannot be completed, your subscription may be paused, cancelled or moved to the Free plan, in which case meal plans above the Free limit are locked rather than deleted. Your access always reflects the subscription status confirmed by Stripe.

14. Price changes

We may change our prices for new subscriptions at any time. If we change the price of your existing subscription, we will tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies. The new price applies from your next billing period after that notice. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it applies, and you will keep your current plan until the end of the period you have paid for.

15. Referral rewards and promotions

  • Referral reward: when someone you refer creates a LazyMeals account through your referral link or code, upgrades to a paid plan and successfully pays for it at least once, you and that person each receive one free month of subscription time.
  • Limits: a referred person can only generate one reward, and you cannot refer yourself. There is no maximum number of free months you can earn.
  • How free months work: a free month extends your paid subscription before your next payment is taken. It does not change your plan or your price. If you are on the Free plan when you earn a free month, it is saved and applied when you upgrade to a paid plan.
  • Promotions: promotional discounts and codes are subject to the conditions shown with them. Unless those conditions say otherwise, they cannot be combined with each other. Referral free months can be combined with your current price and with other offers, because they add time rather than a discount.
  • No cash value: free months, discounts and codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or transferred.
  • Misuse: we may withhold or remove rewards, discounts or codes obtained through fraud, fake accounts, self-referrals or other misuse.

16. Early-access offer

People who join the LazyMeals early-access list and confirm their email address before LazyMeals is publicly launched are eligible for 50% off the first billing period of their first paid plan after launch. On monthly billing, that is 50% off the first month. On yearly billing, it is 50% off the first year, including on the yearly Unlimited plan. After the first billing period, the subscription renews at the regular price. The offer can be used once per person. It is only available to people who joined and confirmed the early-access list before the public launch: there is no general launch price or discount for other subscribers. How to redeem the offer, and any time limit for redeeming it, will be explained before launch, in the app and by email to people on the list. Section 15 applies to the offer.

17. Your content

  • You own your content. Recipes, notes, meal plans, messages, ratings and other content you create or upload (“Your Content”) remain yours.
  • Licence to us: you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, adapt and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure and improve LazyMeals for you, for your household and for the people you choose to share content with. The licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies that other users have already saved or that are part of shared household plans, and backup copies until they are overwritten.
  • Your recipes stay yours: recipes you create are not added to the public LazyMeals recipe library. If you share a recipe, the recipient receives their own copy, which they keep even if you later delete the original.
  • Your responsibility: you confirm that you have the right to use Your Content, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law. Do not upload recipes, images or text that you do not have the right to share.
  • AI output: you may use meal plans and recipes generated for you in LazyMeals for your own personal, non-commercial use. Similar or identical content may be generated for other users. AI-generated recipes may, after review, be added to the LazyMeals recipe library, without any of your personal information.
  • Feedback: if you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

18. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break any law, or use LazyMeals to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, offensive or harmful;
  • try to get around plan limits, AI allowances, security measures or access rules;
  • access, or try to access, other users’ accounts or data without permission;
  • copy, scrape, extract or resell content or data from LazyMeals by automated means, or use it to build a competing service;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows it;
  • interfere with or overload the Service, or introduce malware;
  • misuse invitations, referrals, promotions or the AI assistant, including trying to make the AI produce harmful content.

19. Our intellectual property

LazyMeals, including the app, website, design, software, recipe library, texts, images, trademarks and logos, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app and Service for your own personal use under these Terms. You may not use our name, logos or trademarks without our written permission.

20. Availability and changes to the Service

  • We work to keep LazyMeals available and working well, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors. We may need to carry out maintenance or updates.
  • We may change, add or remove features to improve LazyMeals, for security or legal reasons, or because of changes in our business. If a change significantly and negatively affects the paid plan you are subscribed to, we will tell you in advance. You may then cancel, and if you do so within 30 days of the change, we will refund the part of any prepaid amount that covers the remaining period.
  • If we decide to stop providing LazyMeals, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, give you an opportunity to get a copy of your data and refund any prepaid amount for the period after the Service ends.

21. Suspension and termination

  • By you: you can stop using LazyMeals at any time, cancel your subscription and delete your account in the app.
  • By us: we may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect LazyMeals, our users or others from harm or fraud. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your account for reasons other than your breach, we will refund any prepaid amount for the remaining period.
  • Effect: when your account is closed, your right to use LazyMeals ends. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on content licences, liability and disputes, continue to apply.

22. Liability

  • Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
  • What we are not liable for: to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable, that is caused by your breach of these Terms, by events beyond our reasonable control, or by your failure to check ingredients, allergens and instructions as described in section 5. LazyMeals is for personal use, so we are not liable for business losses.
  • Limit: to the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims relating to LazyMeals is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or EUR 50 if that is more.
  • Exceptions: these limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or to any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we change LazyMeals or when the law changes. If we make changes that affect you significantly, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree to the changes, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before they take effect. If you continue to use LazyMeals after that, the updated Terms apply. Minor changes, such as clarifications or corrections, may take effect when they are published.

24. Governing law and disputes

  • These Terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
  • Please contact us first if you have a complaint, so we can try to solve it.
  • If you live in Sweden, you can take a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN, arn.se). If you live in Denmark, you can complain to the Danish Consumer Complaints Board through Nævnenes Hus (naevneneshus.dk). If you live elsewhere, you may be able to use a consumer dispute body in your country. We will take part in such proceedings where the law requires it.
  • Disputes may be taken to the Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, you can also take a dispute to the courts where you live.
